Buckley Forrester is under tremendous pressure to finish auditing a company so that it can borrow $100 million to buy a pharmaceuticals startup.
The prior auditor on the job was killed in an auto accident. Forrester suspects Becker, a spikey haired woman with a Ph.D. in math of cooking the company’s books. And, the company’s owner keeps $40 million of gold in the basement. Nobody knows where the gold came from.
Forrester was expected to rubber stamp the deal, but when he started asking questions, people started to die. Something smells.
